Abstract

Factorial soil fertility experiments were conducted over one growing season at 3 sites on sandy red earths in the Douglas-Daly area, NT. Significant response to Mo application on growth of Siratro, (Macroptilium atropurpureum), was obtained at two sites. Plant Zn levels less than 15 ppm were observed in plots where P and S, but not Zn, were applied. There was no evidence of response to K, Cu, Ca, Mn, Mg or B. Molybdenum in addition to P and S is recommended for pasture legume establishment on these soils.
