Cynodon dactylon (L.)
Pers. - |
|
| This fine-leafed creeping perennial is rarely planted but invades heavily grazed sites or becomes a weed of cultivation. Seed of `Speedy couch' is sold as a lawn grass, while large-leafed, tall
varieties such as Coastal Bermuda are used for both ley and permanent
pastures in the southern states of America. African
star grass is not rhizomatous, and is used for grassing waterways.
